Home Affordability Expert” and addresses more than 25,000 persons annually
on the topics of real estate trends, finance, and fee-for-services.
Julie is the sole three-time recipient of the Real Estate Educators’ international “Real
Estate Educator of the Year” receiving the award in 1985, 1994, and
2002. She is a past national President of the Real Estate Educators Association
and was one of its first twenty recipients of the (DREI) Distinguished Real
Estate Instructor designation in 1983.
She has authored six real estate books including “All About Mortgages” and “Real
Estate a La Carte” published in 2001 by Dearborn Financial Publishing.
Her syndicated newspaper column of the past decade, The Frugal HomeOwner®,
appears weekly in such papers as the Miami Herald. Additionally, her columns
appear in The Real Estate Professional Magazine and online at www.realtytimes.com.
Passionate about education, Julie is one of the first real estate educators
in North America to do research regarding what consumers’ want and
what they’re willing to pay for in the real estate process. The founding
of the National Association of Real Estate Consultants™ and design
of the C-CREC designation in 1999 culminates five years of research on the
subject.
In 1997, The National Association of Realtors® nominated Julie as one
of the fifty most influential people in the real estate industry, sharing
the list with only three other women. In 2000, NAR selected her again, this
time as one of the “Top 25 Most Influential People in Real Estate”.
She was the only woman to make the list both times.
